Cancelling a VCN account

 

If the person phones the VCN Help|Desk.

  1. Send a cancellation confirmation email to their VCN account and they need to reply to the message.
  2. When the person replies to the message, you can reset their password to disable their account. Note down this change in the ticket.

If the person sends an email to the request tracker.

  1. Reply to the ticket asking them to confirm the cancellation of their VCN account.
  2. When the person replies to the message, you can reset their password to disable their account. Note down this change in the ticket.

 

If they don’t know the password for their account, then either

  • Get their picture ID to verifiy identity, then enter an RT request for the help queue with subject Account Deletion. Then record the following into RT
  • VCN login of account to delete
  • type of picture ID (ie. driver’s license)
  • fullname on the ID
  • your name (you, the volunteer) so we can verify the request with you, if need be.

OR

  • Enter an RT request for the help queue with subject Account Deletion. Then enter the following info into the request
  • VCN login of account to delete
  • their keyword (mother maiden name)
  • birthdate
