Dialing out takes one second longer than tradition PSTN

Analog phones connected to a FXS card have excellent voice quality indistinguishable from real PSTN phones. Softphones rely on the OS, so on Windows, as more applications are in use, things get slower, more swap memory is used, which increases latency and the “echos”, and the voice sound being cut off constantly. Windows machines should be restarted everyday to refresh memory to ensure good running of softphones.

Sometimes analog phone will give the ‘hungup’ tone (quick beeps). Hanging up a few times will clear this, can give a dial tone again.
